Why I chose it: NBC is a young company that prides itself on discovering and selling the best barrels available from contract distillers. Their first rye pick was just 3 years ago in 2020. This is our second bottle from Midwest Grain Products*, or MGP. It contains the same mashbill as our previous MGP pick, however, this barrel had 2 additional years at rest. Will that extra time make a difference? Does it have a sweeter, oaky profile? Does the additional aging offset the effects of 10 points higher proof? Let's find out together!
