Day 14

Nevada Distilling
Smoke Wagon 7 Year Private Barrel

Style: Single Barrel of Straight Bourbon from Indiana

Mashbills: Undisclosed bourbon

Aged: 7 Years

Proof: 114.28

Cost: $99.99

Why I chose it: Binny's described the barrel as "On the nose, maple butter, vanilla wafer, candied peach, dried cherry, toffee bar, cinnamon sticks, and freshly ground cloves. On the palate, spicy cinnamon and caramel cream lead the way with dried fruits and cloves supporting as oak spice percolates..." That sounded pretty nice to me. This is MGP bourbon from Indiana, aged out in the desert of Las Vegas, and filled in one of the cooler-looking bottles. I wish I knew the mashbill - I'm curious how much (if any) rye is present. Based on the description of cinnamon and spice, I assume there is at least some. Based on the tasting, I bet this is a high-rye bourbon.
