Why I chose it: Michter's has continued to receive praise and awards for multiple products. This bottle was named “Whisky Of The Year” for 2019 by The Whisky Exchange. After 2 years of not releasing it, 2022 (our bottle) was the follow-up release to the award-winning bottle. Being a sour mash in this instance means its primary grain is likely less than 50%, making this our first non-bourbon or rye and another subtly finished bottle. Can the 86-proof hold its own in today's higher-proof market? We'll find out.
