Day 11
Hancock's President's Reserve

Style: Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey

Mashbills: Undisclosed, but rumored to be the Buffalo Trace Mashbill #2 (Primary grain of Corn, higher rye than mashbill #1 (10-15%), likely some malted barley)

Aged: Undisclosed. Rumored to be ~8 years

Proof: 88.9

Cost: $59.99

Why I chose it: While I couldn't get 2 Blantons for our tasting, I could find this often-forgotten sibling rumored to be from the same Buffalo Trace mashbill #2 (also shared with Elmer T Lee, Rock Hill Farms, and Ancient Age). Not much is known about this bottle. Even the marketing department of a company with a reported $2.9 Billion annual revenue, the Sazerac company, could only muster 64 words to describe it. It's rumored these bottles do not pass the Elmer T Lee acceptance test and are repurposed as Hancock's. Maybe it's true, maybe it's something completely different. Let's hope the taste is significantly better than this unphotogenic label!
