Day 18
Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon
Style: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Mashbill: Buffalo Trace's undisclosed Mash Bill #2 (their higher-rye bourbon)
Aged: NAS (rumored to typically bottle around 6-8 years)
Proof: 93.0
MRSP: $75.00 (it's still climbing...)
Why I chose it: At this point, I'm not introducing anyone here to Blanton's (we did one last year too), but who doesn't love learning how the coveted pony fits in when double-blinded against a great field of opponents? Are we chasing the right horse?
We don't know the exact ratio of the mashbill, but it's rumored to be corn, 10-15% rye, and malted barley. The mashbill is shared with the rest of the Blanton's lineup, Elmer T. Lee, and the mysterious Hancock Reserve.
